Reflective Practice for Educators
Reflective Practice for Educators sessions are confidential and nurturing conversations about the most complex and distressing aspects of professional life. Specifically designed for Headteachers and SENDCOs, the sessions provide a unique space for senior leaders to be supported without judgement or repercussions, acknowledging and recognising the enormous pressures that face individuals in these particular roles. The sessions are aimed at those who have achieved highly in their career and are functioning well and effectively, but who have little support around them whilst providing support to others within the school community.
These conversations are about two professionals coming together from different backgrounds and skill sets, both with experience and knowledge to contribute. The focus is you – your life, your work, your health, your well-being - what gets you down, what lifts you up. The sessions can be deep and emotional, light-hearted and fun. All range of responses to life are welcome, we will navigate each problem and situation together in a safe and confidential space. Each session is bespoke and unique and follows what is needed rather than a set pattern, allowing the work to flow in a creative and holistic way.
Session Details
The sessions are confidential, safe, honest, educational, gentle and creative. They allow participants to offload frustrations, explore relationships with colleagues, external professionals and the families they are working with, and receive supportive education about how trauma impacts them by proxy. Using theories and knowledge from psychotherapy, neuroscience, the body’s nervous system, nutrition and self-talk, the sessions enable a pathway forward, unblocking what is getting in the way of a healthier work-life balance.
We will also discover what is working well and can be used to better effect, something that may have been forgotten or lost. The sessions have been shown to reduce sickness time in employees, decrease stress and burnout, improve staff retention and create a positive working environment which cascades throughout the school community.
The sessions are one hour in length, are held fortnightly, monthly, or termly.
I can offer these sessions remotely or face-to-face.
£540 for 6 sessions spread over one year (one per term)
£100 per session of one hour (one-off or additional sessions)
