Walking Therapy

Walking Therapy allows conversations to flow in an open and outdoor environment. I am naturally an outdoor person and have loved exploring beautiful countryside all my life. I have three dogs and we spend a lot of time together in my local woodlands and the stunning Peak District countryside.

Much research has been done on how being outdoors in nature positively affects mental health. It is well known that exercising outdoors, in warm and cold temperatures, improves mood, lifts depression, eases anxiety and soothes the soul from emotional pain. I certainly know this to be true from my own journey through life. I am interested in the self as a whole system, integrated within the wider environment. My knowledge and training in theories from psychotherapy, neuroscience, the nervous system, relational fields and nutrition combine well with being outdoors in a natural environment which has so much to teach us.

Session Details

Walking therapy allows deep, relational conversations to be held within the wildness of nature, receiving all it has to offer us. It eases the pressure and awkwardness that can exist within the therapy room and allows depth and creativity to flow. Walking therapy sessions can include a dog or two, yours or mine, and are at a slow walking pace, allowing us to talk in an engaged way and experience what answers nature may be showing us.
Individual Counselling Sessions are £60 per session of one hour in length, and are held weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
